WorkSafe New Zealand has granted an exemption (SEP2404) to Flint Group NZ Limited from compliance with regulation 11.29(1) for their flammable liquids store [only in respect of the requirement for a building that is Type D storage specified in regulation 11.29(2)(d) to have a certain fire resistance rating for the building (as it applies to the walls, roof and doors)]​ of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 in relation to their flammable liquids store at 6 Burrett Avenue, Penrose, Auckland.

WorkSafe has amended exemption SEP2010 granted to Amcor Flexibles (New Zealand) Limited (Amcor) on 10 February 2023 in relation to compliance with regulation 11.36(2) of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017.  This amendment (SEP2010A) concerns the fire resistance rating requirement of the walls in the printing hall and laminating hall of Amcor’s facility located at 74 Brandon Street, Christchurch.

WorkSafe has granted an exemption (SEP2301) to Urox Sys Limited from compliance with regulation 11.36(2)(c) (only as it applies the type 3 workroom requirements for: prescribed fire resistance ratings of walls, ceiling, and doors; the compliance of windows with NZS 4232.2:1988; and the requirement for the roller door in the westernmost external wall of the workroom to be self-closing), regulation 11.37(3), and regulation 11.37(4) of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 in relation to their workroom located at 2 Stonedon Drive, East Tamaki, Auckland.

WorkSafe has granted an exemption (HS2310) to Halcyon Power Limited from compliance with regulations 17.17(1)(a) and 17.17(4) of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 in relation to the grouping of stationary tanks to be used for hydrogen storage at 141 Roscommon Road, Manukau City Centre, Auckland.

WorkSafe has granted an exemption (SEP2402) to Rockgas Limited from compliance with regulation 11.21(3)(a) of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 in relation to the reduced separation distance of a LPG tank (tank number 121156; serial number 4309) located at Lot 10 DP477452, (GPS coordinates 45.858107, 170.361873), 180 Duke Road North, Mosgiel to the neighbouring protected place at Lot 3, (DP477452).

WorkSafe has granted an exemption (SEP2313) to Aalto Group Limited from compliance with regulation 11.36(2) of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 in relation to the construction requirements for a workroom located at 7 Akatea road, Glendene, Auckland.

WorkSafe has amended exemption HS2207 granted to Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand on 27 August 2024 in relation to the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 and the storage of explosive substances.

WorkSafe has granted an exemption (SEP2403) to Handley Industries 2022 Limited from compliance with regulation 11.29(1), 11.36(2)(c) and 11.37(4) of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 which require that hazardous substances are used or held in a type D store or a type 3 workroom at 77 Hillside Road, Glenfield, Auckland.
